Prior to joining the Wake Forest coaching staff, Will Mack was the director of recreation for the Greensboro United Soccer Association. He later became an assistant coach for the Carolina Dynamo, as well as with the Olympic Development Program of the North Carolina Youth Soccer Association. In addition to coaching, Mack also played in the Major League Soccer League. He has also appeared in numerous major league games and won several regional tournaments. He hopes to make many more big-league appearances in the future.
Will Mack was a sharecropper in Rankin County. He lived with his wife Eliza and five children on Dennis Purvis’s farm at the time of the incident. The Myers farm was approximately one mile from the Macks’ place. He was a man of color. He was arrested on April 19, 1909, and later transferred to Rankin County jail. As the result of the assault, Will Mack was sentenced to death.
Mack has been playing on the Korn Ferry Tour this year. He missed the cut in the Huntsville Championship last year and tied for 62nd in the BMW Charity Pro-Am. Mack missed the cut in his last two tournaments and hasn’t played on the PGA Tour since. But, rumors suggest a comeback for Mack. So, how will he make his comeback?
