When you think of Halloween, you likely immediately think of trick-or-treating. However, there are many other fun things to do at that time of year. Here are three fun things to do for Halloween.
1. Haunted Houses
Regardless of where you live, you’re bound to have multiple haunted houses within driving distance from you. Haunted houses can be fun to visit for a date night or with a group of friends. If you have older children, they might like to explore a few instead of trick-or-treating.
Make sure you check the rating of the haunted house before you go. Many go way beyond the typical jumpscares, and some even require that you sign waivers before you go inside, so make sure you know what you’re getting into before going to one.
2. Haunted Trail Ride
If you live in a more rural part of the country, check and see if you have a haunted trail ride near you. The ride will typically have you sit on bales of hay in a cart, and then the cart will be pulled by a large tractor, similar to a hay ride. Along the ride, you’ll go through a haunted forest full of scary creations that will keep you on your feet the entire way. Many rides offer warm drinks and snacks for purchase at the end, so make sure you don’t fill up too much on candy before heading out.
3. Halloween Party
If going out isn’t your idea of a fun time, stay home and plan a party instead. Plan fun games and have music blasting to keep your guests entertained. To help further the spooky Halloween theme, use battery-powered candles to set the tone for the party. Additionally, create some food items that creep your guests out in the best way possible. For example, place gummy worms on top of the dessert, or use ice molds to create realistic body parts for use in the drink bowls.
