In March 2025, Del Mar Energy Inc., an international industrial holding company, completed the drilling of a new oil well in the Eagle Ford field in southern Texas. The well, working number EF-21X, was drilled ahead of schedule, is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and is being prepared for commercial production.
The new well reaches a depth of 8,300 feet and is showing a steady flow of high quality light oil. Preliminary estimates indicate a flow rate of approximately 250 barrels per day, making EF-21X one of the most promising prospects in the company’s current production cluster. Already today, Del Mar Energy experts predict that the project’s internal rate of return (IRR) may exceed 40% per annum, and the time to reach the break-even point will be reduced to 6-8 months.
“At Del Mar Energy, we believe in sustainable growth, and our approach to exploration and drilling bears this out. EF-21X is not just a new well, it is further proof that in the right hands, conventional energy remains an extremely profitable industry,” said Michael Latham
The project was financed in part with institutional capital and through the company’s investment platform, where private investors could join the financing on an equity basis. This is the third well to utilize a hybrid investment approach with both large and retail capital.
For Del Mar Energy Inc. this is an important step not only technically but also strategically. The company relies on developing localized resources in the southern U.S., reducing its dependence on volatile international markets. The EF-21X project fits perfectly into this concept, and its successful implementation demonstrates how exploration, technology and investment, when properly combined, can quickly turn into an asset that generates stable revenues.
Del Mar Energy is currently completing the tie-in of the well to the existing pipeline infrastructure. Commercial shipment of first oil is expected as early as April 2025. In parallel, two more wells – EF-22 and EF-23 – are being prepared to start up in the same area.
“We are showing that it is possible to build investment and industrial projects without decades of waiting and paperwork. This is a real sector, with real returns, involving real people,” Latham added.
For the company’s investors, this means not only immediate profits, but also the opportunity for long-term involvement in the development of an infrastructure facility with high scalability potential. All project partners will have access to internal reports and investment plan payments will be made according to the terms of the platform.
The EF-21X well is not just a drilling success. It is a prime example of how Del Mar Energy Inc. continues to shape a new investment standard in the industry: transparent, efficient and results-oriented.
