Oliver Greer – A Loved Husband, Father, and Brother

Oliver Greer was an exemplary husband, father and brother who will be dearly missed by his wife Catherine of Greenville; six daughters: Dorothy Yarbrough of Summerville and Gayle Young as well as Margaret Freeman, Ashanuda Greer and Brenda Breaux-Martin all from Greenville; three sons; two stepchildren; 22 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren as well as many other family members.

Early Life and Education

Oliver Greer quickly took advantage of his graduation from Nottingham with an Economics degree to take advantage of an opportunity to work overseas in Hong Kong, where he gained valuable experience working within China’s rapidly evolving capital markets.

His passions lie with classical education, baseball and ice cream – in that order. Additionally, he loves morning yoga classes and peaceful cabins. Oliver lives with them and they reside in Mount Pleasant, Washington.

As soon as Fagin’s henchman Bill Sikes discovers Oliver, he attempts to take him away (“Consider Yourself”). Nancy takes pity on Oliver and warns against joining the thieves; but Sikes attacks Nancy violently before brutally murdering her behind London Bridge; Bullseye alerts Brownlow and the police of their hiding spot before disbanding and fleeing from there with them.

Professional Career

Greer was employed at various pharmacies in South Carolina’s upstate before founding Greer Pharmacology company and serving as an assistant professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at University of South Carolina.

Oliver is an expert on distance and blended learning. He has overseen numerous e-learning initiatives as part of digital teaching initiatives and currently serves as Program Area Coordinator of NC State’s Learning Design and Technology (LDT) degree programs for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees.

He is an advocate of balanced living, enjoying both Paris’ elegant elegance and the rustic beauty of the Pacific Northwest. His attention to detail shines through in both his work and lifestyle – whether morning yoga, quiet cabins or taking afternoon naps outdoors!

Achievement and Honors

Oliver was also a two-time National Kicking Event Prep Camp champion, ranking him among the nation’s elite placekickers. At Colorado University he received honorable mention for all Pac-12 selection and became a Lou Groza Award semifinalist.

Oliver was active in Kiwanis both locally and nationally during his retirement, serving as deacon at his church and supporting local charities through Greer Community Funds business. Together with Frances, they also established a substantial estate that provided family, church, charitable, foundation support. Not to mention they were deeply loved by their grandchildren and great-grandchildren who would come visit.

Personal Life

Greer is an expert at finding balance in her lifestyle. She appreciates both Paris, where she honeymooned, and the Pacific Northwest’s rustic beauty, with both places inspiring her design philosophy. Greer’s meticulous attention to detail and appreciation of nature are evident throughout her designs.

She was an active member of Highland Park Christian Church and West Point Christian Church as well as being an avid UK Basketball fan, often cheering ‘GO BIG BLUE! She leaves behind her husband and daughter as survivors.

Her father was a farmer, cattle rancher, and railroad executive. She has two grandchildren. Website visitors may view her book of condolences. She will always be remembered fondly as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by everyone she knew.

Greer was an actor known for his roles in westerns and as a minister in various shows, and as an adored husband, father, and grandfather. Unfortunately, Greer passed away on April 28, 2007 at 90 years old.

Oliver attended CEIBS, an esteemed business school in Asia, for an MBA and reached HSK level 5. This decision proved one of the most life-altering.
