George Kollitides is an experienced U.S. private equity and operations executive with 30 years of transaction, strategy and operational expertise. He specializes in investing in middle-market businesses facing ownership transitions, operational challenges or other catalysts that require capital and sophisticated partners for success.

He has held various leadership roles, such as CEO, Chairman, Lead Director or Director on public, private and not-for-profit boards. Furthermore, he was part of or chairing Compensation & Audit Committees which enabled middle market companies to grow and become professional entities.

Early Life and Education

George Kollitides was born into a lower middle class family and raised within an intimate community. He received an excellent education and made wise choices regarding his future career path.

He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA from Lafayette College. Currently, he serves as partner and co-head of A&M Capital Opportunities, serving on their investment and conflict management committees.

He is also proud to be a Gold level member of the Young Presidents’ Organization and has received multiple awards and recognitions for his services to the community. Other noteworthy accomplishments include being the first CEO to speak with a journalist about Sandy Hook shooting in Connecticut and being named one of Sports One Source’s 40 Under 40.

George Kollitides has over three decades of transaction, strategy and operations expertise investing in middle-market companies undergoing organic growth, ownership transitions, consolidation or other catalysts requiring capital. He has served as Chairman, Lead Director or Director on public and private boards; additionally serving on their Compensation & Audit Committees to assist these growing businesses scale up and become professionally run.

Currenty, he serves as managing director and co-head of A&M Capital Opportunities, a middle market private equity firm. Additionally, he sits on the boards of adMarketplace (a search advertiser); Precision Gear Inc. (a supplier to the U.S. military and various military aviation programs; Energy XXI Gulf Coast Inc.; Dutchland Plastics LLC. Additionally, he’s active in Good Sports New York, Young Presidents Organization (YPO), and DOMUS – an residential program for vulnerable Connecticut youth – all as part of his involvement with Good Sports New York, YPO and DOMUS (DOMUS), serving on its board as well.

In 2010, Sports One Source recognized him as one of the 40 under 40 in the sporting goods industry, while Orthopedic Foundation for Active Lifestyles honored him with their 2010 Philanthropy Leadership Award.

Recently, he joined Freedom Group as its Chief Executive Officer – a firearms company that owns Remington Arms, Bushmaster, DPMS and Marlin. A lifelong hunter and shooter, he has held leadership positions in numerous hunting and shooting organizations for many years.

Personal Life

George Kollitides is the CEO of Freedom Group, a manufacturer of military-style assault rifles. Additionally, he serves on the NRA Foundation board where his company has made over $1m in donations.

He serves on the Hunting and Wildlife Conservation Committee and Publications Policy Committee of the National Rifle Association, while serving as Director of Industry Relations for the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association. An avid outdoorsman, he’s also a member of Boone & Crockett Club–founded by Teddy Roosevelt–which promotes hunting and conservation initiatives.

He joined Cerberus after it acquired TenX Capital Management, the merchant bank he co-founded that invested in middle market companies facing ownership transitions, operational difficulties or other triggers. Prior to that he was a Principal at Catterton Partners – the largest consumer and retail-focused private equity fund.
