Peoria Chiefs 2008 Roster Revealed

The Chicago Cubs have unveiled the Peoria Chiefs’ 2008 Opening Day roster. It features nine returning players from last year, including Robert Hernandez. Josh Donaldson, Kyle Burke and Jonathan Mota are also returning. Newcomers Jonathan Lalli and Blake Parker are slated to make their first-time starts. Two free agents were also signed to tryout for team. These are the key players for Opening Day.

At the end of the season, the Chiefs will hold a media day. Many players will be available to interview media at the end Wednesday’s practice. After a game against Bradley University, the Chiefs will practice at O’Brien Field around 8 PM. Coach Sandberg is not scheduled to conduct any interviews on Wednesday. The media is welcome to attend practice, but Sandberg isn’t scheduled to conduct interviews. The Chiefs will be available for questions, but not yet.

The Chiefs began the season with a loss. They were 16 1/2-point underdogs entering the game. In the second quarter, they were down 17-10. However, backup quarterback Matt Cassel sacked Brady and went down clutching his left knee. The backup quarterback’s first pass was 51 yards to wide receiver Randy Moss. Cassel went five for six on the drive, which culminated with a touchdown pass to Randy Moss.

Kansas City opened with a touchdown from Brett Favre to Dwayne bowe. The New York Jets responded with a field kick by Garrett Hartley and a 56 yard touchdown run from RB Laveranues Colles. The Chiefs remained in the game with a win, improving their record to 1-6. However, the season is far from over, as they have lost seven of nine games.
