David Furer – Wine Writer, Educator, Consultant and Speaker

David Furer is a wine writer and communicator who has worked in the alcohol industry since 1986. He currently resides in New York, working from his home office where he provides consulting services to organizations.

He writes for US and European drinks media and hosts wine business events. Additionally, he served two terms on the Circle of Wine Writers executive committee and is an Advance Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers.

Furer served as the intermediary between David and his Florida suppliers (the Toros), arranging several dozen shipments, keeping cocaine at his business until delivery, paying the Toros with funds supplied by David, and attending meetings on David’s behalf. As such, he fell within David’s sphere of influence for purposes of the CCE statute.
