The problems that currently are affecting the planet are numerous. Global warming, pollution, and the increase in plastic waste are generating large concerns with the earth. Changing the future and preserving the earth is a matter that people must tackle collectively in order to have a chance at reversing it. This is happening in many different ways, however, one movement that is catching on is the natural-living movement.
Many people have chosen to live more of an ecological lifestyle in order to reduce their own personal amount of waste and keep more plastics out of the ocean. Here are some ways that common people are working together to help preserve nature.

Care for the Water
Water is one of the most important elements we have on earth to sustain life. However, it is a limited resource. There are millions of people that don’t have safe drinking water. One way to help conserve water is to form simple habits like:
- Take shorter showers.
- Don’t leave the water running while you brush your teeth.
- Implement dry cleaning for your car or re-use gray water.
- Only water your lawn while the sun is down, to avoid evaporation.
These actions make a difference. Imagine if every person in the neighborhood does the same. Cities and towns would have plenty of extra water.
Buy Second Hand
Buying from second-hand shops helps to reduce waste. The production of new items uses more raw materials, all of which may not be sustainable, and also use fossil fuels or unsustainable energy to produce. In the case of some materials, they may not biodegrade for thousands of years, if ever.
Another way to help reduce waste is to purchase items from second-hand stores. Many people now are using used clothes, furniture, and even technology. Instead of buying a new device, you can buy used phone that is refurbished and works as well as new. You can even buy used ridges and stoves.
By avoiding the manufacturing process, you help to reduce CO2 and also help recycle and reuse items that would otherwise just fill up a landfill and not decompose for thousands of years
Recycle
Speaking of recycling, it is one of the best ways to help reduce waste. Plastic, paper, glass and some metals can be recycled. You can take them to an official facility, or you can re-use them yourself.
Create Green Spaces
If you live in a house or apartment, you can create green spaces by planting different flowers or trees. They can create harmony with the ecosystem, helping insects, birds, and other animals to reproduce and maintain balance.
